Te Tuhi is one of New Zealand’s foremost contemporary art spaces and a leader in supporting experimental practice. This is an exciting opportunity to take a pivotal role in Te Tuhi’s education programme.
Annually, Te Tuhi works with more than 5,000 children across its catchment area in Tāmaki Makaurau, enabling students to access a wide range of art activities. The Schools' Educator is responsible for the development and delivery of a dynamic schools education programme, actively seeking to increase Te Tuhi's outreach through new practical art-making workshops and initiatives in collaboration with schools, and delivering these programmes to high standard.
A strong knowledge of contemporary art is essential for this role, and teaching experience is useful but a teaching qualification is not required. Practicing artists are strongly encouraged to apply and while it is a full time role Te Tuhi will accept applications from artists who wish to work part time and job share the role.
