The Howick Historical Village is owned and operated by the Howick & Districts Historical Society. It is a unique Living History Museum depicting Early Settler Life in Auckland including the establishment of Fencible settlements. Refer to the web site www.historicalvillage.org.nz
The Society requires a part time Village Partnership Coordinator to assist it to achieve the funding levels required to finance the museum into a new exciting stage of its development. The Board of the Society are committed to its Vision Statement - To be recognized as a world class “Living Museum” of outstanding value and standards”.
The Village Partnership Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementation and control of the fund-raising activities (grants and sponsorship) for the Howick Historical Village. A key part of the role is to develop positive relationships internally and with funding organizations. It will also involve the administration of fund raising activities including the preparation of funding applications and accountability reporting to the full range of funding agencies and organizations throughout New Zealand.
The role is a part time position, requiring a 20- 30 hour working week. There is flexibility in work times to accommodate personal and family needs. The number of hours required could increase by agreement based upon success and the funding needs of the Village. This is a key role within the museum and provides an opportunity for the right person to make a major contribution toward the museum achieving its Vision and to build a career within the organization and the sector.
Applicants should have experience in similar roles in Not for Profit/Charitable organizations have good administrative and interpersonal skills.
