We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our Visitor Experience Leadership Team as Kairuruku Wheako Manuhiri | Operations Coordinator.

In this role your purpose is to ensure the daily operations of our sites are aligned to our purpose, to policy and to strategy. You play the crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our processes, with a strong focus on health and safety, process delivery, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and reporting. With a focus across multiple sites you work with the Kaiwhakahaere Hāpai Whare | Site Managers and others to ensure all sites are fully equipped operationally to deliver their experiences from daily admissions, to events, public programs and for our Kaimahi themselves.

  • Experienced in creating and delivering standard operating procedures and policy
  • Possess a firm and focused understanding of health and safety practices and policy
  • Be focused on best practice delivery
  • Be comfortable and calm delivering in high pressure environments
  • Ensure the safety, health, and security of manuhiri and kaimahi is maintained to a high standard and responds to incidents as needed.
  • Maintain an all-of-site view on planned activity and collaborating with other teams.
  • Uphold our brand and reputation and address any issues as needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement in all front-of-house systems and practices.
  • Deliver policy and procedure communications, training and sign off programmes for all front of house kaimahi
  • Work independently and as an expert in their field.
  • Be capable of delivering on multiple requirements and prioritizing on the go.

You understand our organisational objectives and deliver this mahi through an agile and considered approach to our strategy, our values, and our organisational goals.

  • Proven experience in operations roles including development of Standard operating Procedures and policy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and departments.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and incident response protocols.
  • A current First Aid certificate is preferred.
  • A current drivers license is essential
  • A interest in local history and heritage and a deep understanding of visitor engagement.
  • Knowledge of Te Reo and Māori culture is preferred.
  • Previous role in a retail, GLAM, tourism or visitor experience setting is advantageous
