Ben Ashley – Principal Art & Collections Valuer
Ben Ashley is Aon New Zealand’s Principal Art & Collections Valuer.
He has over a decade of art appraisal experience working in private practice and auction houses. He specialises in large-scale assessments and has completed projects for New Zealand’s most significant museums and institutions, including including the Alexander Turnbull Library, Te Papa Tongarewa, Ministry for Culture and Heritage Manatū Taonga, the National Museum of the Royal New Zealand Navy, The New Zealand Parliamentary Service Te Ratonga Whare Pāremata, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga, Museum of Transport & Technology, Hocken Collections Uare Taoka o Hākena & University of Otago, and the Tauranga Heritage Collection, among others.
Acting as an art insurance claims consultant, he has worked extensively on projects throughout New Zealand, Australia, the UK and the USA and on claims arising from the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch earthquakes and the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake.
